Tuesday, Museum Day

Cole wanted to go and see a few museums, but he had bother remembering which one he wanted to go to first.  He talked about the Science Museum, then the British Museum and then the Natural History Museum.  We started out at the British Museum, an easy ride on the tube to Holborn, and then a walk through the pouring rain with some nice French people tagging along behind us.

The British Museum is a really cool place to spend the day and they have great activities for children.  We went into the library and picked up a Treasure Hunt sheet that we had to follow.  We had a bunch of clues to find, and then we had to use letters to form a word that was central to the theme of things we'd looked at.  We left the library and made our way to the first room, via the Egyptian mummies room, where Cole had to walk through crowds of people with his eyes firmly closed.
We saw lots of Roman Emperors.  I'm not sure why everyone looks so miserable here, but I think they were trying to look as serious as the busts.

Love the British Museum, what a wonderful building.
Cole took this one and we were instructed to drink our coffee for the shot.  Outside in the South African gardens.

After the British, we went on the tube to Kensington and got off at the Natural History Museum.  We've been here before, and there are lots of photos of the building on my flickr, if you start HERE

We finished up the day by taking a rush hour packed tube back to Holloway Rd.  Granny was super organized and cooked dinner for us.  So nice to sit and just look out Julie's balcony at night falling over London.
